The Legal Authority

University of Southern Punjab Multan (USP) is an autonomous privately managed university. The University has been legislated by the Government of Punjab vide Act No. XIV/2010 on 21 July, 2010. The Governor of Punjab has conferred assent of Enactment of University of Southern Punjab Multan on 29 July, 2010. It was notified in the Punjab Government Gazette (Extra Ordinary) on 02 August, 2010 and enshrined in its constitution. The Governor of Punjab is the Patron of the University of Southern Punjab Multan. The Board of Governors is the Supreme Governing Legislative Body and the Academic Council is its main Academy Body.

University of Southern Punjab Multan has been honored with charter by the Government of Punjab as a Degree Awarding Institute (DAI). Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad Government of the Pakistan has recognized U.S.P as a Chartered Degree Awarding University and awarded highest category of W’ (A), listing it on its website under the heading “Chartered University / Degree Awarding Institutes of Pakistan in public and private sectors. The program strategy of USP is to provide higher education opportunities of the highest quality at a reasonable and affordable Cost to the masses.

University of Southern Punjab Multan has the honor and prestige to be the pioneer University in Private Sector committed to promote modern and progressive education in the region of Southern Punjab. it Is an autonomous and independent in trait and character.

It is a project of higher learning and venue of academic excellence. Its prime focus is to produce professionals who are creative, innovative, discoverers, trend setters and capable of producing new ideas and projects.

HEC Recognition

The competent authority of Higher Education Commission on performance in academic & management, on the basis of excellent facilities, well- equipped infrastructure, purpose- built campus, galaxy of seasoned and experienced professionals on its illustrious faculty, has placed the University of Southern Punjab in the highest category of ‘W’
The dignified honor conferred on the University of Southern Punjab Multan is a milestone of excellence which is highly valued, prestigious and admired. The University shall continuously do the best of the best to capitalize rich dividend for executing its outstanding performance.

According to Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad there are 24 Universities / Degree Awarding Institutes (DAI) are functioning in the Punjab Province whereas out of these 24 Universities/ Degree Awarding Institutes, Lahore is fortunate to captivate loin share of 19 Universities / Institutes. The breakup of the remaining Universities Degree Awarding University is one each at Taxila, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Wah and Multan.

It is worth mentioning that the vast region of Southern Punjab comprising 3 civil administrative divisions have solitary Degree Awarding University in the name and style “University of Southern Punjab Multan” popularly known as USP having enormous gap / vacuum ranging from Sukkar to Faisalabad stretching to Lahore The University of Southern Punjab Multan developed infrastructure in all respects at University status and the management endeavoring its best to upgrade the only Degree Awarding University to Southern University of Multan.
