B. Architecture (5-Years)

Introduction

The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) program is a dynamic, future oriented academic program that responds to the evolving technological, environmental, and societal demands of the contemporary world. Aligned with the accreditation standards of the Pakistan Council of Architects and Town Planners (PCATP) and the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the curriculum integrates rigorous training in design, the basic sciences, mathematics, and emerging architectural technologies. Graduates are equipped to engage comprehensively across all phases of the architectural process, from conceptualization and planning to construction, technical execution, and the operations and maintenance of the built environment. Through thoughtful design, construction, and interpretation of spaces, students develop the intellectual and artistic capacity to transform the built environment into a reflection of cultural identity, human aspiration, and sustainable progress.

Mission of University

The Institute will produce highly qualified and committed individuals who will play a leading role in the sustainable development of the region and the country. The human resource, thus produced will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to act as solution provider for many issues of the region and the country while respecting the ethical values.

Program Mission Statement

To impart professional architectural education that flourishes through research, critical practice, using modern tools and community engagement. The program strives to act responsibly and nimbly within changing socio economic and technical conditions maintaining core mission of architecture in relation with the sustainable development and advancement and graduates negotiate and collaborate through all genres of design, with professional attitude, knowledge and skills at national and international level to generate design artifacts and arguments with a contemporary culture and disciplinary resonance.

Prominent career pathways include:

  • Interior Designer – Create functional and aesthetically appealing interior spaces.
  • Urban Planner – Plan cities, communities, and public infrastructure projects.
  • Landscape Architect – Design parks, gardens, and outdoor environments.
  • Construction Manager – Supervise construction projects and site operations.
  • Sustainable Design Consultant – Develop eco-friendly and energy-efficient building solutions.
  • 3D Visualization & BIM Specialist – Create digital architectural models and visual presentations.
  • Project Manager – Coordinate architectural, engineering, and construction teams.

Eligibility Criteria

Intermediate or equivalent with at least 50% Marks.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

Graduate on the basis of demonstrated knowledge of Architecture, will be able to create start- ups/firms, secure positions and work independently with effective functioning in the leading industries/organizations related to discipline.

Graduate will become disseminator of Architecture knowledge and adopter of latest tools, techniques with an ability to handle the complex design and planning problems in the field of Architecture.

Graduate will become provider of innovative, viable and sustainable solutions in the problems concerning to design and planning, keeping in view the social, ethical and environmental concerns.

Programs Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

An ability to apply knowledge of mathematics, science, architectural fundamentals and an architectural specialization to the solution of complex architectural problems.

An ability to identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex architectural problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and architectural sciences.

An ability to design solutions for complex architectural problems and design systems, components or processes that meet specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

An ability to investigate complex architectural problems in a methodical way including literature survey, design and conduct of experiments, analysis and interpretation of experimental data, and synthesis of information to derive valid conclusions.

An ability to create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern architectural and IT tools, including prediction and modeling, to complex architectural activities, with an understanding of the limitations.

An ability to apply reasoning informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to professional architectural practice and solution to complex architectural problems.

An ability to understand the impact of professional architectural solutions in societal and environmental contexts and demonstrate knowledge of and need for sustainable development.

Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of architectural practice.

An ability to work effectively, as an individual or in a team, on multifaceted and /or multidisciplinary settings.

An ability to communicate effectively, orally as well as in writing, on complex architectural activities with the architectural community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

An ability to demonstrate management skills and apply architectural principles to one’s own work, as a member and/or leader in a team, to manage projects in a multidisciplinary environment.

An ability to recognize importance of, and pursue life-long learning in the broader context of innovation and technological developments.
