Message From Director ORIC & Research
The Office of the Director ORIC & Research has recently been established as a significant step toward strengthening the integration of research, innovation, and academic collaboration across all departments of the University of Southern Punjab. The office is committed to promoting a vibrant research culture by fostering strong linkages between academia, industry, and civil society.
The Office of ORIC & Research aims to facilitate collaboration with industry by providing access to the University’s valuable resources, including advanced scientific instruments, highly qualified faculty members, and skilled researchers. Through these collaborations, industrial challenges can be addressed effectively, while innovative technologies may also be developed through the utilization of the indigenous resources and research capabilities available at USP.
We warmly invite all sectors of society, including industry, research organizations, and community stakeholders, to join hands with us in contributing toward national development and the welfare of the community at large. In this regard, the University highly welcomes the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with various organizations to foster joint research initiatives, collaborative research projects, and industry-oriented problem-solving through the expertise and resources available at USP.
Introduction of Office of the Director ORIC & Research
The University of Southern Punjab (USP), one of the leading universities in Multan, is committed to providing quality education and promoting a strong culture of research and innovation among its students and faculty. To achieve this mission, the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) & Research has been established to strengthen and advance research activities, innovation, collaboration, and commercialization at the University.
The Directorate of ORIC & Research plays a pivotal role in developing a dynamic research environment by facilitating research projects, academic collaborations, capacity-building initiatives, and innovative practices. The office is dedicated to creating opportunities that enhance scholarly excellence and contribute to national and international research development.
At USP, we strongly believe that students are our greatest asset. The primary objective of the Office of ORIC & Research is to support and guide students in the successful completion of their degree programs and research activities. We aim to prepare our graduates not only to become responsible and respectable citizens of Pakistan, but also proud ambassadors of USP who can contribute positively to society at national and global levels.

Objective
a) To develop a creative knowledge in intellectually capable young students.
b) To inculcate reactivity in creative minds, healthy bodies, and ethical spirits needed to contribute wisdom, compassion and leadership to a global society.
c) To provide a rigorous, academic program through which effective educators lead students to take responsibility for learning.
d) To provide outstanding education with innovation and pioneering work in its curriculum, admission policies, a range of extracurricular activities, and the rigor of its academic programs.
e) To teach “DO THE RIGHT AND FEAR NO MAN”; an apt expression of qualities considered essential for a successful citizen, which the School aims at teaching its students through an elaborate and integrated program of numerous physical, mental, spiritual and academic pursuits.
f) We are committed to sustaining a school in which students share their experiences with one another in the meaning and value of community for lifelong learning.
g) Our Curriculum places strong emphasis on what we term ‘Essential Core Skills like reading, writing, speaking and listening in English and Urdu.
Directorate of ORIC & Research is facilitating our faculty and students by focusing on the following objectives:
- To strengthen our research programs and establish a culture of research.
- Developing a good academic/research relationship between a student researcher and a teacher supervisor.
- Promotion of public confidence about the institution that we are providing quality education and research as per HEC rules.
- Training and encouraging our teachers to write research proposals, research papers and publishing them in well-reputed Journals.
- To monitor and assess our teaching faculty their teaching/research methodologies by devising a tracking mechanism.
- Arranging workshops, seminars, conferences, and training programs for giving research awareness and industrial interactions.
- To send off our students successfully with degrees achieved within the stipulated time duration.
