Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Awan is a distinguished economist and academic leader, currently serving as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Southern Punjab, Multan. With over three decades of diverse experience spanning academia, research, corporate management, and journalism, his expertise encompasses international economics, financial systems, sustainable development, Human Resources Management, Climate Change, Environment, Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship studies. His research focuses on global economic transformations, emerging versus advanced economies, climate economics, Environmental Economics, and financial sector development, with particular relevance to Developed & developing countries. He has authored numerous books, presented papers at international conferences, and contributed extensively to scholarly literature. Teaching Philosophy

Prof. Dr. Abdul Ghafoor Awan’s teaching philosophy is grounded in intellectual rigor, interdisciplinary integration, and the development of analytical and research-oriented thinking among students. With extensive teaching experience across Ph.D., M.Phil., MBA, MS, and undergraduate programs at institutions such as Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), the University of Southern Punjab (USP), and Quaid-i-Azam University, he emphasizes a learner-centered approach that bridges theory with real-world application.

He believes that higher education should cultivate critical inquiry, independent reasoning, and evidence-based decision-making. Through courses such as Corporate Finance, Advanced Research Methods, Macroeconomics, Strategic Management, and Defense & Strategic Studies, he encourages students to engage deeply with contemporary economic, financial, and strategic issues. His pedagogy integrates quantitative techniques, case-based learning, and policy-oriented discussions to equip students with practical competencies. Prof. Awan strongly values interdisciplinary learning, reflected in his teaching across diverse domains including economics, management, environmental sciences, media studies, and strategic affairs. He fosters an inclusive academic environment that promotes intellectual curiosity, ethical responsibility, and innovation. As a mentor, he prioritizes capacity building in research, guiding students to produce high-quality scholarly work. His ultimate goal is to prepare graduates who are not only academically competent but also capable of contributing effectively to national development and global knowledge economies.
