Dr. Fayyaz Ahmad Farooq

Brief Bio

Dr. Fayyaz Ahmad Farooq is an Assistant Professor and Academic Coordinator in the Department of Islamic Studies. He holds a PhD in Islamic Studies with specialization in Islamic Political system and administrative law. His academic work is rooted in a strong engagement with the Islamic intellectual tradition, particularly the critical and analytical study of classical Islamic literature (Quran and Sunnah). The core focus of my research interest is the analytical study of administrative laws in the Pakistani context in the light of Islamic principles of governance. I aim to evaluate the existing administrative laws of the modern Pakistani state on the touchstone of fundamental Islamic teachings and the sanctity of public treasury۔Simultaneously, I am deeply interested in examining the thought of renowned Muslim philosophers and thinkers from Islamic history in the contemporary context, so that their ideas can be utilized to solve modern political, economic, and social problems. Furthermore, I intend to conduct an applied study of social, economic, and cultural transformations in light of modern requirements. This will help determine how Islamic teachings can be harmonized with contemporary challenges such as the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and international law. My ultimate objective is to provide an intellectual and practical framework that can remove the legal, social, and cultural hurdles standing in the way of making Pakistan a truly Islamic state. In addition, he is interested in fostering a meaningful synthesis between traditional Islamic sciences and contemporary academic methodologies, aiming to contribute to a more relevant and dynamic understanding of Islamic scholarship in the modern world.
