Introduction

BS in Islamic Studies at the USP Multan is a 04-year program specifically designed to upskill the students who have a passion for the teachings of Islam. The program follows the mission to encourage the learners to read and analyze a wide range of creative and critical views critically, with the aim to angle them with current issues of Muslim Ummah. Being highly interdisciplinary in nature, the program enables students to connect their knowledge of Islam with several areas of social sciences such as philosophy, psychology, globalization, sociology, etc. The best university in Multan allows the students a considerable degree of choice, both in pursuing their area of interest and in selecting a topic of their curiosity for writing their dissertations in the final semesters. Thus, the intensive and extensive focused learning and practice that the students experience during their four-year stay at the Department fully invent them for pursuing advanced studies and an array of professions and career opportunities.

Program Mission

Our mission is to equip our students with modern tools of learning with innovative ideas for spreading and disseminating the message of Islam. The department of Islamic Studies aims to inculcate the knowledge of Islam with relevance to the contemporary world particularly with quality and religious harmony. Our mission is to produce the scholars who are experts of Islamic Education with an exposure to modern scientific, technological and social development.
Specially Department want to train scholars by inculcating the skill of interpretation of Quran, Sunnah, Fiqh , Seerah , Islamic History , Philosophy & Tasswuf.To promote the tolerance, brotherhood, unity among the Muslim Ummah, moderation, broad-mindedness love with moral and other Islamic values, through academic activities

Career Prospects

There is a wide array of opportunities in government and private sectors available to Islamic Studies graduates, including teaching, Lectureship, as well employed as a research assistant in various research firms.

Intermediate or equivalent with at least 2nd division

Basic Islamic Knowledge: On the basis of demonstrated knowledge of Islamic Studies the graduates shall be able to know and understand the basic Islamic literature.

Historical evolution of Islamic knowledge: The students will have the ability to understand the historical evolution in different areas about Islamic studies.

Study of Islamic sources of information: The students will have the ability to identify the basic and secondary sources of Islamic studies.

Importance of strategy in Islam: The students will have the ability to investigate different strategy in the field of Islamic studies.

Role of Islamic teaching in character building: The students will have the ability to build a good character.

Islamic teaching in Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms with Muslim community and society

Problem Analysis: The students will have the ability to identify and analyze the complex problems in the field of Islamic studies.

Contemporary trends in society: The students will have the ability to identify and analyze modern trends and issues in contemporary society.
